Dave:

I'm 58. Got back on a bike just last year after 30+ years. Took the MSC & endorse it to the max!! I'm originally from S. Calif and grew up in the midst of all those massive British singles of the 60's. Never quite got over them, found redemption and joy in my 1999 Savage. No desire to "when are you ever going to supersize that little bike". I find the Savage to be an underappreciated gutsy fun bike that fulfills but doesn't control ownership.
I'm 6' tall, not a lot of butt padding, but with a sheepskin seat cover I can go on a couple of hundred mile trip, still be refreshed & have fun, though others have whined that the Savage is to small & uncomfortable for long distances. Maybe I'll agree when I start hitting those 500 mile runs. I carry a 1.5liter fuel bottle of spare gas to compensate for the small gas tank, but have yet to use it for myself. We live in Western N. Carolina I'm on the Blue-Ridge Parkway a lot.
I'm sure you will love the Savage, it probably doesn't fill the testosterone driven "mine is bigger than yours" image that is important to some, but it would have back in the 60's and the human organism has not evolved much since then. I only wish that there were more accessories made for the Savage.
